Established in 2015 from the consolidated experience of engineers and academics, MFC Forensic is the structured point of reference for specialized expertise in multidisciplinary forensic engineering, specialized in fire and explosion investigation and consultancy.

MFC Forensic, continuing the activities developed over the years by TECSA, follows high-complexity cases, including industrial accidents, also using advanced multiphysics simulation technologies and validated methodologies for risk assessment and root cause identification. Currently, forensic engineering activities are conducted in Italy and abroad for complex situations including fires and explosions in various industrial and transportation domains.

Investigation

Forensic engineering investigations

MFC Forensic deals with investigations, expert reports, and reconstructions of accidents, injuries, fires, explosions, or other negative events (including near-misses) in civil, maritime, and industrial fields as well as issues related to safety in the workplace, also employing advanced tools including three-dimensional laser scanning on the ground and in the air, digital asset management information systems for the collection and study of evidences, text analysis, and classification systems for the evaluation of the complex of available information.

MFC Forensic

Consulting

Analysis of accidents and near misses

MFC Forensic locates, collects, and guards evidence, identifying the root causes of an accident, near-miss, or non-compliance. The search for root causes and causal mechanisms is employed for both expert witness activities and continuous safety improvement to identify useful measures to prevent recurrence. Analyses are conducted through the use of internationally recognized methodologies and standards, possibly with the support of specific reporting tools and calculation codes for hypothesis testing.

MFC Forensic

Simulation

Advanced simulation

MFC Forensic uses special software to reconstruct the dynamics of complex events and to test alternative working hypotheses. A prominent role is taken by simulation with calculation codes validated for the purpose and extensively tested against real situations. Among the most widely used tools are FEM and CFD calculation codes.
